How HobbyWise keeps local records and signed-in workspace data private.

Last updated: July 26, 2026

Overview

HobbyWise is a product of 5Line Ventures LLC. The app helps collectors and hobby sellers organize spending, inventory, collection buys, sales, and show activity. Core Collector use can remain local without an account.

Data stored on your device

HobbyWise keeps a local copy of app records on your device so supported workflows can remain available when a network connection is interrupted. Records that have not been connected to a 5Line account remain on the device unless you export or share them.

Exported files, shared labels or reports, and support email are controlled by the destination you choose.

5Line account and private synchronization

A 5Line account is required to use the HobbyWise web workspace and to synchronize supported records between the website, iPhone, and iPad. Account information can include your email address, display name, account identifier, sign-in session, and app access status.

Free synchronization can include Collector activity, budgets, lists, list items, and events. Pro synchronization can also include inventory, collection-buy, seller transaction, and photo records. Database and storage access rules limit these records to authorized workspace members, and Pro-only tables require current Pro access.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple. HobbyWise uses RevenueCat to validate subscription status. Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase-related identifiers and receipts. When you connect a 5Line account, HobbyWise may associate the RevenueCat app-user identifier with your account identifier so the web workspace can recognize Pro access. HobbyWise does not receive or store your full payment-card information.

Other 5Line products

HobbyWise does not publish private costs, supplier or source information, storage locations, private notes, or internal profit data to CardShow, 5Line Collectibles, or another public surface. A future sharing feature must identify the public-safe fields and require an intentional user action before publishing them.

Connected AI tools

Connected AI is a coming-soon feature and is not available in the current public App Store release.

If you choose to connect HobbyWise to a supported MCP-capable AI, the connection uses your 5Line account and the 5Line Integration Gateway. The AI may read the specific HobbyWise workspace records needed for your request, including inventory, collection buys, sales, expenses, costs, estimate ranges, locations, and private notes. Do not connect an AI provider whose data practices you do not accept.

These records are used only to complete the action you request, such as finding an item, summarizing a date range, checking a possible duplicate, or preparing a review draft. Requested records are shared with the AI provider you choose and processed by 5Line's gateway and infrastructure providers as needed to operate and secure the connection. HobbyWise does not sell this information or share it with CardShow, 5Line Collectibles, advertisers, or unrelated customers.

Connected tools may read date-bounded business summaries and prepare a reviewable import containing item details, estimates, or structured purchase information extracted from a receipt, invoice, or order screenshot. Purchase drafts may include merchant, date, totals, order reference, and a personal, resale, business-expense, or mixed classification. They cannot apply those proposals to canonical records without confirmation and a separate review inside HobbyWise. HobbyWise does not receive or store the conversation, original video, or original images through this workflow unless a later feature clearly asks you to upload them.

The gateway keeps limited operational records needed for security and troubleshooting, such as the tool name, version, outcome, error code, duration, and a one-way shortened account hash. It does not place access tokens, request payloads, private inventory fields, structured draft contents, chat transcripts, model prompts, or uploaded images in those logs. 5Line-controlled gateway logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and troubleshooting and are then deleted. Access is limited to authorized 5Line support or security personnel and the infrastructure providers needed to operate the service.

You can stop future connected access by disconnecting HobbyWise in the AI provider's connected-app settings or revoking its 5Line authorization. Disconnecting does not automatically apply or delete a pending HobbyWise review draft. You can reject or delete pending drafts in HobbyWise and can contact support to request account and cloud-data deletion.

Analytics and advertising

HobbyWise does not include third-party behavioral advertising or sell your hobby records. The app does not use third-party analytics to build a profile of your collecting or selling behavior.

Data retention, deletion, and backups

Local records can be removed when the app is deleted or device storage is cleared. Signed-in records may remain in the private workspace so they can synchronize to another device. You can remove individual records from HobbyWise. To request deletion of a 5Line account and associated HobbyWise cloud data, contact support@hobbywise.app from the account email. Account deletion may affect access to other 5Line products that use the same identity. Files you export remain under your control.

Children’s privacy

HobbyWise is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product changes. The date above will be updated when revisions are published. Questions can be sent to support@hobbywise.app.
